Rotork Launches Next-Generation Smart Valve Positioner

Rotork announces the launch of the RTP-4000 series, a new generation of intelligent valve positioners designed to provide optimized control solutions for single-acting and double-acting actuators on quarter-turn and linear valves.

The company announced that its inaugural product is the dual-certified RTP-4400 model, which combines easy installation and commissioning, advanced online diagnostics, rugged construction, and seamless system integration. This enables rapid, energy-efficient operation in demanding applications and industries requiring high-end valve control solutions.

This product series employs magnetic-based non-contact position feedback, eliminating mechanical wear and ensuring long-term reliability for both rotary and linear actuators.

Diagnostic technology based on advanced pressure sensors provides real-time online equipment status and predictive maintenance capabilities, while user-friendly dashboards offer at-a-glance visibility into valve status.

The company stated that the product features a robust, corrosion-resistant structure and employs copper-free aluminum and resin-encapsulated electronic circuits, ensuring durability even under harsh conditions. It also offers an Arctic option that extends the operating temperature range down to -55°C.

This locator integrates seamlessly with all major control and asset management systems and, with dual certification, is suitable for use in both explosion-proof and intrinsically safe zones.

High pneumatic capacity enables rapid valve operation, while optimized air consumption helps customers achieve greater efficiency and lower operating costs.

Other options include analog and digital outputs, pressure gauges, and support for emergency shutdown (ESD) applications with partial stroke testing capability.

The positioner business was originally under the Korean YTC brand. YTC (Korea Yongtai) was acquired by the UK-based Rotork in 2019 and is now a brand under Rotork. Following the acquisition, YTC's valve positioner product line continues to operate. Certain product models, such as the YT-2500 series, still bear the “Made in Korea” designation and are supported by ROTORK. Product appearance and branding may have been updated, including the logo changed to Rotork and the housing color transitioned from black to gray.
